“I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.”
-Annie Dillard

In order to understand life, we try to capture its essence and feeling in our imperfect, imprecise language. By putting words on our experience, we are able to cope, to overcome, to grow, and to thrive.

I’m Michael Berdan. I’m a husband, a father, a reader, a writer, a learner, a teacher, an advocate, and many things that I don’t have words for yet. On this site I put words on my life and our world, and share the words of others that I find valuable.
